We recruit, equip, and deploy young people to change public opinion and end abortion in Michigan.

We believe in human rights for all humans without exception, and that women facing unexpected pregnancies deserve nonviolent care and support.
Abortion violates human rights — in fact, it is the greatest human rights violation of our time. It takes the lives of more than 90 children each day in Michigan alone. Not only is this injustice legal, but it is also celebrated in our culture.
To end the violence and discrimination of abortion, we must change public opinion.
Like past human rights injustices, abortion will end through the bold & sacrificial action of people like you.
We are changing public opinion in Michigan using the most effective tools available to us — compassionate dialogue and powerful visuals.
A note from Trevor
Dear Friends,
I've long been convinced that we must end the violence of abortion, and joining Protect Life Michigan has been more than a job for me. It's a deeply personal mission.
What drew me here, and what keeps me inspired, is our students. I've watched them stand on their campuses with courage, have honest conversations with classmates, and change hearts right on the spot, all while caring for the mothers and children at the center of this cause. They give me real hope for Michigan's future.
But they can't do it alone. I'm grateful for every one of you who prays, gives, and speaks up alongside them, and I'd be honored to have you join us as we build a state where every life is welcomed and protected.
With gratitude,

Trevor Polo
Executive Director
2005
In 2005, pro-life student groups across Michigan gathered together on Michigan State University's campus to establish Protect Life Michigan (back then, we went by "Students for Life of Michigan"). These students formed a coalition of pro-life student groups to work together to protect life on college campuses across the state.

2013
In 2013, we hired our first staff member: Christen Polo. This big step allowed us to make campus visits and offer more resources to the students in our coalition. Through our support, the number of pro-life groups skyrocketed from 6 to 46. The need for a greater presence on campus became clear.

2018
In 2018, we launched our first Life Advocate Intensive activism training, bringing an outreach focus to all of our groups.

2019
In 2019, we launched the “Campus Activist Model” which changed the way our college groups operated. The new model focuses on weekly meetings to learn how to talk about abortion, frequent campus activism, and building pro-life community on campus. Through this model, we began to help students reach 100% of their peers with the reality of abortion each year.
Soon after launching the Campus Activist Model, we launched our high school program, serving high school groups and giving school assembly presentations to inspire and equip young leaders.
2022
In 2022, we lost Proposal 3 after running the largest pro-life grassroots campaign in our state's history.
2024
In 2024, Trevor Polo joined the team as Executive Director.

The same year - we launched Operation Zero, with the goal of repealing Proposal 3 and eliminating public support for abortion in Michigan.

2025
In 2025, we released a report showing that we can change public opinion on abortion enough to repeal Proposal 3, measured through the impact of two persuasion campaigns we ran in 2024 and 2025.
TODAY
Today, we have a team of trained professionals to mentor students into exceptional pro-life leaders, statewide events to equip young leaders in the most advanced pro-life strategies, and an army of alumni serving the pro-life cause in countless career fields.
All these years later, we remain dedicated to the same mission, vision, and core values as the day we were founded. We serve over 50 high school and college campuses with trainings, resources, retreats, activism opportunities, and so much more.
Get updates from campus, see our recent wins, and learn what's coming next in Michigan's fight for life.
Our students and staff change thousands of minds on campus and in communities every year, and your support is how they get there.
